I had finished my beginner quilting class and had been quilting maybe all of two months and I was taking my first swing at half square triangles and to me, they were HARD! I didn’t yet know that you could square them up, and I was chopping off points everywhere. Luckily, I happened to be in the local quilt shop when I heard a quilter that was way more experienced than I was say “Well if you can’t see it from a galloping horse, it doesn’t matter” and it was one of those lightbulb moments that really stuck with me. All of those points that I was losing were never going to matter once that quilt was quilted. I finally did learn how to sew triangles together without losing too many points, but I still know that perfect points or not, all that matters is that I had fun!
